Terence J. McGurn
McGurn retired as a senior analyst from the Central Intelligence Agency. His expertise was in navigation, guidance and control technologies. He developed methodologies that improved the intelligence community's ability to assess the accuracies of foreign weapon systems. He initiated and implemented outreach programs to provide the agency's unique resources to the Departments of Defense, State, and Transportation in support of U.S. military, political, and economic goals.
As a consultant, he continues to support U.S. satellite navigation policy and the agency's effort to assess foreign weapons threats. He has also served as a member of the Independent Assessment Team supporting the Interagency GPS Executive Board, the original executive board responsible for managing the GPS of navigation satellites. He continues to serve as a member of the Independent Review Team that advises the Director, U.S. Air Force Space Command, on acquisition and operational issues related to GPS.
He earned his doctorate in Electrical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and a bachelor's and master's in Electrical Engineering, New Jersey Institute of Technology. McGurn has received the CIA Career Intelligence Medal, numerous Exceptional Accomplishment and Exceptional Performance Awards.
